Pumpkin carving is probably the thing I look most forward to each fall.
I always get excited when I see the first Halloween decorations in the stores, and I know autumn festivities are upon us when I see gorgeous pumpkins at the farmer’s market.
We usually carve one pumpkin for each person in the family. Since my kids are still little, we usually stay away from scary faces and find some Disney characters, animals, Halloween words, or fall patterns to cut out.
I’ve put together this handy list of over 800 free pumpkin stencils, and I am positive you will find some cool templates in this resource list.

Halloween Pumpkin Carving Tips
No matter how awesome your pumpkin template is, there are a couple things you can do to ensure your pumpkin carving lasts through Halloween.
- Choose a smooth pumpkin without nicks or bruises to ensure it lasts as long as possible.
- Don’t carry a pumpkin by the stem; the stem might break, and pumpkins may bruise after they hit the ground.
If you don’t have a pumpkin carving kit, you can use following household tools to carve the pumpkin – a large spoon, a sharp serrated knife, a nail, and a paring knife.
Armed with the appropriate pumpkin carving tools, Halloween stencil printouts, and a little elbow grease, anyone can create a lovely carved pumpkin. And my mom tip of the day 🙂 – Since pumpkin carving requires tools unsafe for small children, so make sure they are appropriately supervised at all times if they are helping out.
