Today we went to our local Harbor Freight store to purchase something for my husband. So, of course, I browsed around for some cool things to showcase on the blog. 🙂
I wasn’t sure what I was going to get, but I knew I’d recognize it when I saw it.
And there it was – this glorious container that I knew would solve all our art supplies issues!
$3 Storage Container = Sanity-Saving Storage Hack for Moms
I don’t know about your house, but ours is being run over. With art supplies, that is.
Everywhere I turn, there’s a random crayon, marker, highlighter, colored pencil, you name it laying on the ground. I’ve had it!
We’ve tried so many different organization methods for our art supplies. We’ve had a desktop carousel, we’ve had many different containers/cans/bins. We’ve tried using shoes boxes to store lots in one place. Nothing seems to work perfectly. Because everything we try eventually spills all over the place.
And guess who ends up cleaning it up? 😉

This storage container is meant to have 24 tiny square compartments that hold nut, bolts, etc. But the cool thing is – you get to choose where you put your dividers/inserts. So it really can accommodate items as long as the entire container. I noticed that putting the inserts down the middle of the container created 6 perfectly sized section for holding pens, pencils, crayons, and markers.
The best part? You can throw this thing all around, and the contents won’t get mixed up or spill out! It’s my new favorite thing. 🙂
Here’s a snapshot tutorial of the simple setup process so you can see what I just described.
If you don’t have a Harbor Freight store near you, you can definitely find these containers at Walmart and Michael’s. They won’t be $3 though!
Here’s the same exact product available on Amazon. It’s quite a bit more expensive, but hey – now that I know they are so handy, I might even be willing to pay this price!
