Today I have something completely out of character to share on the blog!
I decided to start revealing some of the completed rooms in my house.
We moved in 17 months ago and – let’s face it – not that many rooms are 100% completely finished!
But this one is!
It was very important to me that we finish our dining room before anything else because I LOVE entertaining friends and family. We host a lot of holiday gatherings, weekly Bible study, and other parties throughout the year.
This gives us a relaxing place to gather and share good conversation.
I initially shared our dining room on Instagram, and it was instantly one of the best posts to date on my Instagram account!

Happy New Year!! 🎉 I just realized I never posted an update on our dining room after my story showing Jon hanging the chandelier! This is the final product only after living here a short 19 months 😂😂 . . My talented friend @ja9dow decorated this entire room from the wallpaper to the candles and it’s so beautiful beyond anything I could have ever done myself that I never want to change it! She probably wouldn’t want me to say this but she was almost on HGTV ya’ll! Can’t you tell?! 🤩 I’m so fortunate to have her help! ⭐️ . . #southernhomes #traditionalhome #antiquestyle #betterhomesandgardens #mytradhome #diningroominspo #diningroomdecor #centerpiecesideas #winterdecor #howiholiday #bhgstylemaker #glamchandelier #holidaytable #theglammovement #traditionalhomeholiday #tablescapes #setthetable #tablescapestyling 💖 . . Chandeliers, sconces, wallpaper + dining room table from @arhaus | cream dining room chairs + roses from @athomestores | table settings + centerpiece decor mostly from @steinmart . . Tons of people have shared and saved this dining room for inspiration.
It makes me so happy to know a look I dreamed up and pulled together inspires so many people!
Here’s How to Recreate This Rustic Glam Inspired Dining Room Look
I remember when I first started to decorate this dining room, I didn’t know where to start.
Not being a designer myself (Hello, CPA! Which is basically opposite of “designer” LOL), I was SO CONFUSED what to include in the final look or even where to begin!
So I enlisted my friend Janine to help (she’s amazing ya’ll and I’m trying to convince her to start a blog so she can share this kind of advice with the world).
She slowly walked my stubborn, interior design challenged self through the process.
I’m proud to say that I picked out all the major elements myself (like the dining room table, chandeliers, sconces, and chairs) with her help, and then she came in and finalized the overall look with beautiful accessories.
We make a great team, if I do say so myself! 🙂
I gave her a pretty jumbled list of requirements, ya’ll.
In my mind, this room was kinda old-fashioned, but kinda glam….a little bit of an antique feel + farmhouse but not so much because I can’t stand super boring color palettes (I LOVE color!).
I also am in love with the chinoiserie type of wallpaper, which is apparently VERY DIFFICULT to find in any fun colors!
I kept finding inspiration pics online, but they all seemed to lean too far in the farmhouse style direction.
I wanted my final design to be decidedly glamorous and modern with a nod to traditional design and formal Southern entertaining.
It’s honestly very difficult to work from a vision and not just go for a certain popular aesthetic. Know what I mean?
I mean, how non-specific of me!
So on we went on this grand “hard to define” journey…
No lie – I probably looked at 2000 samples of wallpaper in every wallpaper store / home decor store / dining room showroom in town…only to go back to the this beautiful blue flower blossom bird silhouette chinoiserie wallpaper we found at Arhaus at the very beginning of our journey.
Same with the dining room table – we probably looked at hundreds of them all over town before deciding on this one we found at Arhaus over 6 months earlier.
It turns out Arhaus really does collect items that fit into my look, although when you walk into their store, the vibe doesn’t precisely match what I’m going for.
I had to pick and choose pieces that worked and combine in my special way to achieve this look.
Hence the shopping list below if you love THIS EXACT LOOK as much as I do!
Now you don’t have to scour the world for the perfect RUSTIC GLAM items like I did!
I don’t know if it’s a thing, but I actually call this “rustic FLORAL glam” in my mind because every single area of my house has flowers in it somehow or another.
I’m always getting comments from women like “I love how girly / feminine you went in here.”
My poor husband just has to deal with it, but he’s a good sport. 🙂
Rustic Glam Dining Room Shopping List
If you’d like to create this look in your own home, you’re in luck! I was able to find almost all of the items online and will link them below.
There are two ways you can shop this look, from light fixtures all the way down to candle holders. The first is on desktop and the other is on your phone.
The wallpaper really set off the look of the room in the right direction and the glittery yet rustic look of the light fixtures brought in the glam!
The little accents like rhinestones on candle holders and napkin rings really plays off the lighting.

I hope you enjoyed this different type of post from me!
Heads up – when you see this wallpaper, you might be tempted to think the color palette is gonna be a bit much, but I PROMISE you, it’s not. It’s a lovely shimmery blue with cream flowers and birds, and in certain lights it kinda tends green.
I like the subtle boldness of this wallpaper and I think you’ll love it too!
Let me know if you would like to see more shoppable pics of my home and I’ll do my best to share stuff like this more often!
