‘Tis the season to do all the things. I love Christmas, truly, but sometimes I can get a bit overwhelmed with all the tradition crammed into a single month.
I’ve learned to simplify and pick and choose which traditions to participate in yearly…and one thing I LOVE doing every Christmas is helping the kids write a letter to Santa!
It’s easy and makes such a sweet memento to look at year after year.
Guess what? You can do it too…honestly! I’ve made it super simple for you—check it out!
What Should You Say in a Letter to Santa?
Of course, there are so many ways you can write a letter to Santa! One way is just to use any old paper and pen, and just let your kid get to work! I like to make things a bit more festive than plain lined notebook paper though, so I go a slightly different (equally easy!) route.
Here are some cute writing prompts for your child’s letter >>
It doesn’t have to be a big production to come up with a pretty dear Santa letter.
My trick is I always use a template for the kids’ letters. I’ve included a copy of my most recent PDF below so you can use it too, for FREE!

Does Santa Claus Actually Receive Mail?
In short, YES!!
Did you know that you can actually mail a letter to Santa? I found out about this a few years ago, and just had to share!
The Post Office has a great program where you can mail a letter to Alaska, and receive one back in the mail from Santa himself.
It’s really easy to do—plus, just imagine the look on your children’s faces when they run out to check the mail and see Santa has written back!
SO. CUTE.
