For the second installment of WhatMommyLoves, I’m highlighting another item that has made my life as a mom a thousand times easier. It’s the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo.
Why Does Mommy Love It?
I can set my little guy in it and buy myself up to 25 minutes of wonderful free time to get something done.
My Rainforest Jumperoo has lasted through three children’s worth of bouncing and laughing and has been a phenomenal investment!
Look how much fun he’s having!
Other Baby Equipment
I found this magical sanity saving piece of baby equipment through trial and error. I think I’ve owned one of every kind of baby bouncer/walker through the years.
We’ve done the large walker, doorway bungee thing, vibrating baby seat that reclines, vibrating baby seat that rocks, baby swing that sits on the floor, baby swing that sits off the ground and runs on magnets & batteries, rocking bassinet, and even a Bumbo with tray attachment.
The Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo was the clear winner of all those options. And I’m sure I forgot one of two other types of baby seats.
I should probably mention that the Jumparoo is perfect for sitters and crawlers, but once your baby starts to walk, he or or she probably won’t like to sit in it any more because the alternative is so much more exciting. :=)
So if your baby is already crawling, I wouldn’t bother purchasing one. But if you have a near-crawler, this would be the perfect time to get one!
Other Awesome Baby Equipment: Cradle Swing & Kicking Toy
After the Jumparoo, I’d have to say our Cradle Swing was the best tiny baby piece of equipment…those little boogers would sit there content for quite a while in this baby swing once it got going!
And for when my babies were more self-aware, but not crawling yet, the Kickin Bobbin Gym, or “Kicky Bear,” as I’ve always called him, was a near perfect baby distraction device!
You can lay your baby in the floor with his feet near the ball hanging from the back of the bear, and when he eventually kicks his feet, the bear’s lights up and yells “woo hoo!!!” before playing a cute tune.
So there are my top baby equipment recommendations for new moms. What kinds of baby toys or equipment are / were on your must-have list?

Is there a baby contraption that’s kind of like a zipline? Now wait a minute — hear me out! Not a zipline, per say, but some kind of thing like a Johnny Jump Up but has some horizontal movement on a track so the ones that walk can also walk a little but not go too very far when Mom and Dad are busy making dinner? Just a wonder…

Not that I know of, but that’s a neat idea! I suppose you could make your own by straddling a walker on a hose or rope? That’s how those traveling sprinklers work that run back and forth on their own…
