It’s been a few weeks since Easter, and as always we are neck deep in empty Easter eggs! Each year I try to think of something fun to do with them.
The last thing I want to do is use them once then toss them in the recycling bin. Seems like such a waste!
As I was brainstorming a way to use these, I remembered that I had been meaning to send our babysitter a care package at college. I want to include some money in there because I know she can use it. So here’s what I came up with!
Easter Egg Money Bucket – A Cute Money Gift Idea!
I grabbed this cute & colorful striped bucket at Walmart for about $2, and I got a bunch of $1 bills from the bank. Then I folded the dollar bills and stuffed them into the Easter eggs. Took about 1 minute! That’s it!
I’m quite proud of myself! 🙂
I haven’t completely thought through the rest of her gift yet. I figure since this bucket is full of eggs, I can send it in a larger box with other items as well. Maybe some gum, some highlighters, and a few other items every college student can use. I’ll keep you updated on that with pictures when it’s done!
In the meantime, make sure you pin this idea for future reference. Although I am using it as a “care package” type gift, it would make a cute money gift idea for other occasions. I think it would be a cute graduation gift in May (who cares if they’re Easter eggs? They have money in them!) or even an actual Easter gift idea for older kids.
