Ah, slime. The very word sends shivers down some parent’s backs. But, love it or hate it…chances are your kid is a fan!
Rather than fight slime, just embrace it as a fun, and even educational way to play. These new slime toys can keep your child occupied for hours, which is always a win in my book!
7 Slime Gift Ideas for Every Kid
I’ve got 3 pro-slime kids myself, so I did some digging to find a great gift or two that would make their day.
Thankfully, there are plenty of options sure to please any slime lover. Here are a few of my favorites!
1) Gift basic DIY slime ingredients
Making their own slime will allow children to understand the basics of how it comes together. There are plenty of DIY slime recipes online to try. Typically for the best slime recipes you’ll need supplies such as:
- white or clear glue
- contact lens solution (some recipes will use borax instead of contact solution – this is not the same as boric acid so read the label carefully!)
- food coloring
- baking soda
Then, allow your little scientists to get to work making a homemade slime in a variety of colors. It practically guarantees hours of fun!
2) Slime kits
Alternatively, you can simply purchase a slime making kit that has everything bundled together.
Thanks to the popularity of slime, there are a ton of options online!
Slime kits will include all the slime ingredients your child needs to get started making slime. While slime activators are often sold separately, they’re also necessary for slime creation, so make sure to read the instructions carefully.
I found some of the best slime kits on Amazon to share.
This galaxy slime kit has everything you need to make different kinds of slime, including metallic, glow in the dark, glitter slime, and fluffy slime. Plus, there are all kinds of cool add-ins too! See the galaxy slime kit here >>
I also love this DIY unicorn slime kit >>. This is one of the best slime making kits. You can make different slimes including magnetic slime, cloud slime, fluffy slime, and of course…unicorn slime along with several other types!
3) Slime T-Shirt
Here’s a unique fun gift that any kid will appreciate: a t-shirt declaring their love of all things slimy! They can quite literally show the world that they do indeed love slime.
Do you have a kid who is a little gross? You know, the one who loves toilet humor? If so, this is one of those something slimy gift ideas they will talk about for years to come.
This is part science kit and part slime game. Your little one will learn how to make zombie poop, boogers, and bloody slime (see what I mean about gross?).
This is a next level gift that’s a little outside the box, but will make your child thrilled. Throw them a slime party!
You can keep it fairly simple and just invite some friends over to play. Set up a table with some slime containers and fill each with a different color of slime.
Or, let them craft their own DIY slime as a group! Set out all the supplies and some fun add-ins like bottles of glitter glue or charms. Then let them get creative.
This kind of sensory play is so much fun.
For party favors, you can give out slime, of course. These slime party favors >> are the perfect thing for kids to take home and keep on playing.
5) National Geographic Slime Kit
I think National Geographic makes some of the best toys around!
This fun mega slime and putty lab >>> will introduce your little one to so many amazing slime types and textures.
The slime and putty are all premade, so all you need to do is unbox and start playing!
6) Cool Add Ins
Another winning gift for slime fans are mix ins. These objects transform plain slime into something magical.
My recommendation is this pack of 120 slime add ins >>. It includes goodies like foam balls, fish bowl beads, gold leaf, glitter, and charms for hours of play.
This is one of the best slime gift ideas ever!
7) Fluffy Ice Cream Slime Kit
I saved my favorite for last on this list. I am a big fan of fluffy slime—the texture is really fun to play with and it’s not as slimy feeling as your traditional slime.
This ice cream kit is super cute and includes snow powder, “sprinkles”, and cones, as well as different scents and colors to try.
Your kids will love playing ice cream shop for hours with this kit! Just keep a close eye as it is all non-edible, despite how good it looks. 😉
