Can I be honest with you right now? Something has been weighing on my mind that I feel needs to be said…
Seriously, this blogging gig REALLY pushes you to your limits sometimes.
Every time I think I am getting into a good groove with this blogging thing, something gets all messed up. Sometimes it’s tech. Sometimes it’s my schedule. Sometimes I just get in my own way due to fear of not being good enough….and honestly it’s lonely working at home by myself with nobody to talk to.
I’ve been listening to some amazing mindset type messages lately…something I swore I would never do, but I totally get it now.
Putting yourself out there for the world to see (and judge) is NOT EASY. Writing a blog post is easy. Sharing your ACTUAL OPINION with anyone and everyone who wants to see it? NOT. SO. EASY. This one from Marie Forleo, especially helped me recently.
This career is practically 100% dependent on our abilities to believe in ourselves.
On top of being lonely, we have to find out own motivation deep within. When I get into unchartered terrority (creating something no one else have ever created or attempting to do something beyond my capabilities), I default to “nope, that’s not for me.” I convince myself it’s something I DON’T WANT TO DO, instead of admitting that it’s just something I’m SCARED TO DO.
I need a way to keep my spirits up when all I want to do is crawl in a hole and forget I ever started a blog in the first place. I’m beginning to believe that a deep down feeling that I’m not good enough is the reason I struggle with consistency in blogging.
Do you do this kind of thing to yourself as well?
I want to keep it real because nobody would believe me anyway if I told you blogging was all roses. It’s not easy. It’s HARD WORK. But I keep fighting the good fight because I have something bigger than my fear of not being good enough – it’s my desire to help other moms support their families with flexible jobs that they love.
That’s what keeps me going in rough times. What is your WHY? We all need one.
Finding Community with Elite Blog Academy
Elite Blog Academy holds a special place in my heart. Not just for the course itself, but more for the COMMUNITY aspect.
I took EBA when I was experiencing an especially difficult time in my blogging career. A point where I was growing, but working way too hard to achieve that growth.
My blog was making a good income at the time, but I felt like I was working way too hard, and I couldn’t figure out how to grow my blog and sustain my income without working a lot more hours, which was impossible to do because I’m a stay-at-home-mom and my husband travels a lot.
As soon as I started taking EBA, I realized that this was the course I should have taken from the very beginning. Even though I considered myself an “advanced blogger” at the time, I had skipped over so many BASIC things in building my blog. I had built this huge structure on a shaky foundation.
Over time, I’ve used the things I’ve learned from EBA to shore up my business and take it to new heights I never thought I would reach before. I recommend it to EVERY BLOGGER, new and experienced, because I think it’s the best foundational blogging course you can find.
EBA Enrollment Coming Soon ~ March 5th, 2018
Here’s the thing – EBA only opens up for enrollment ONCE PER YEAR. This year it opens on March 5th for FIVE DAYS ONLY! And it’s super duper expensive.
I think I paid $397 or $497, and at the time, I remembered thinking the course was under priced considering all it taught you. However, now it is $897, and I think it is appropriately priced. But it’s not a little amount!
It’s a price that you really have to think about. It’s a price that requires you to really dig deep – to figure out if blogging is something you want to take seriously and turn into a lasting part- or full-time income. It’s not a throw away amount and it’s not a superficial course. It takes a long time to work through the modules.
EBA has increased my income like nothing else. But most importantly, it has give me a COMMUNITY. Mostly of women (sorry, guys!) who are all doing the same thing and building their blogs with the same principles in mind. In fact, most of my Adventures in SEO students are EBA grads. The courses work well together. EBA gives you a great foundation, and then more specific courses like mine help build on that.
Some of my best blogging friends are in EBA. We even get together in person and attend Activate (the new conference by Elite Blog Academy) together (which will be in September in Orlando, BTW!..I’ll be there for sure!) I will go so far as to say that you could justify the price JUST FOR THE SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY you get in return. In this lonely blogging journey, the only way we can survive is by leaning on one another in hard times.
I didn’t send you this email to pressure you to join EBA, especially if you’ve never heard of it or don’t have any way to come up with $897 to invest in a course right now or just simply can’t find time in the next 6 months to apply the course material.
I just wanted to give you some insight into why I love the EBA community and tell you that this is your ONLY CHANCE to get into the course this year. I waited until I saw EBA enrollment come around 3 times before I got over myself and jumped in.
And I really regret not doing it sooner. I could have saved at least 1,000 pointless work hours on my blog by taking it sooner. But then again, I’m the type of person who believes that everything happens for a reason. So I probably wouldn’t be able to teach so many topics from the point of “don’t do that dumb thing I did for years” if I had known how to do everything the right way from the beginning!

Even if you never ever plan to take EBA down the road, I highly recommend this training. I took it last year, and it was amazing.
