I don’t know about you, but once Christmas is over, my thoughts turn to my next favorite sequential holiday – Valentine’s Day.
I skip right over New Years. I think it’s too soon after Christmas for me and kind of still seems like Christmas anyway.
Since I’m already thinking about Valentine’s Day, I’m in the mood to get inspired by all the yummy treats, especially cupcakes!
Here are a few gorgeous cupcakes to inspire your Valentine’s Day creations. I’m not the best baker in the world, but I am going to give a couple of these a try.
Black Forest Cupcakes with Cherry Pie Filling
On the outside, these don’t look like Valentine’s Day cupcakes, but they are filled with deliciously red cherry pie filling, for the perfect surprise!
What makes these cupcakes stand out are the heart wrappers.
I love the added touch of a red wrapper to bake in and a heart wrapper in addition to that.
I thought these Valentine’s Day Playdough Cupcakes from NoTimeForFlashCards were too cute to pass up! Obviously not edible, they fit the bill for a fun playdate in the weeks leading up to February 14th. I think they’d also be cute if you cut heart shapes in the playdough and stacked the hearts on top of each to make a heart “cupcake” tower.
The cupcake photo below doesn’t have an accompanying recipe, but it looks easy enough – any white or yellow cake mix, white frosting, and pink sprinkles with hearts! This is totally my speed. No special skills required! 🙂

With Snowmaggedon upon us, I’m seeing all kinds of people post about making Snow Ice Cream on Facebook. Even though I grew up where we got tons of snow, I had somehow never even heard of snow cream until last week! Since snow is rare where we live now, I figured I better takeKeep Reading
Having a baby in the winter has its own set of challenges. For many of us who live in cold weather climates, our biggest concern with having a winter baby is “How am I going to get to the hospital if there’s a snowstorm?!?” It’s so easy to get caught up worrying about howKeep Reading
