Festive holiday graphic with a candy cane border, showcasing the text "7 No Bake Christmas Cookie Ideas" in colorful fonts. A red and green ribbon adorns the top. The website "www.whatmommydoes.com" is displayed at the bottom, perfect for those seeking inspiration for no bake Christmas cookies.

This Christmas, I'm all about keeping things stress-free. It started with my quest to get our family photos done early so I'm not rushing around at the last minute to finish Christmas cards. I just got an invite to my friend Lesley's annual Christmas Cookie Exchange, so I'm thinking of ways to make that process simple. I've decided I'm going to make NO BAKE Christmas cookies this time. I'm hoping no-bake cookies will be easier & less time-consuming than baked ones (which took me half a day to make last year!).   Easy No Bake Christmas Cookie Keep Reading

Download the free Christmas budget worksheet to control your holiday spending! If you’re anything like me, the approach of Thanksgiving means one thing – stressing out about Christmas shopping! LOL I don’t know why, but I always have a hard time just enjoying Thanksgiving for what it is. I just can’t get all my Christmas to-dos out of my mind. Maybe it’s because of all the commercialization behind Black Friday. I don’t know. At any rate, I thought the week before Thanksgiving would be the perfect time to nail down my holiday budget. When I think of fun, old fashioned Christmas traditions, this family activitty comes to mind. I take my kids to do this every single year & I did it with my family as a child. I also going use a new idea to keep Christmas Christ centered this year. Here's an example any Christian family could do regardless of your children's ages.

Recently, I attended a workshop at church about how parents can keep Christ at the center if Christmas. A few days prior to that, I had just posted about how the approach of Thanksgiving always makes me start stressing about my Christmas to-do list. What this workshop helped me realize us that we're losing sight of the true meaning of Christmas by making it more about cookie exchanges, Christmas cards, and presents than about Jesus. I saw myself in every example the speaker gave. I'm the person who cringes at the thought of spending $150+ on Christmas photos and cards yet does it Keep Reading

A decorative holiday wreath with greenery, pine cones, and red berries frames the text, offering perfect Christmas card photo ideas. The website "WhatMommyDoes.com" appears at the top.

Discover amazing Christmas Card Photo Ideas to use for inspiration! If you’re anything like me, the Christmas music and decorations you see in stores well before Thanksgiving does two things: It puts me in a good mood because I love Christmas. Stresses me out because all I can think about is my TO-DO LIST! First thing on my list is usually Christmas gift shopping, although I have historically proven to be a poor planner and run around like crazy the day before Christmas trying to find the last few gifts on my list! Second thing on my list is our family's Christmas card. The Keep Reading

Winter Coat Drive - one of the warmest ideas for helping others in need! Find out how to hold one in your city!

Everyone remembers to give to charity during the holidays, but we sometimes forget that January is one REALLY COLD month. A friend of mine recently held a playdate with an awesome theme.  It was a winter coat drive for children at a local elementary school. She set up a normal park playdate (we were to all meet her at the park at 10 a.m. on a Thursday), but added the option to bring a coat or two with you that she would then pass along to her sister who is a teacher at the school. Image of a brown paper-wrapped gift with a red and white wooden star ornament, a twine bow, and a red bead. Above the gift, there is text in green and red that reads, "little ways to give during the HOLIDAYS." The bottom corner has a circular "What Mommy Does" logo.

Despite the fact that I love flowers and warm weather, I'd have to say I like the Christmas season more than the spring and summer.  More than anything, I like it because it forces my friends and family to take vacation and obligates them to visit me! haha There's nothing I like more than getting to spend quality time with my loved ones. Another reason I like the holiday season is because it reminds me of just how lucky I am and, unfortunately, how many people out there are hurting. It kicks me into giving high gear, and I love discovering new ways to help Keep Reading

A folded twenty-dollar bill is isolated on a white background. The bill displays the White House on one side and features a slight curl, giving it a somewhat worn look.

When my first child was born, I was still trying to figure out how we would be able to live on one income.  Even though we had been fairly successful at doing so in the year-and-a-half long trial run leading up to her birth (we started pretending like we didn't have my income well before we needed to), I went a little nuts with saving strategies after our daughter arrived. Only then did it seem real that I wouldn’t be bringing in any money going forward, and I was so afraid we wouldn’t be able to do it.
