Easiest Way to Get Everything at a Discount

Christmas shopping season is quickly approaching, and that always makes me think of how I need to come up with a Christmas list & budget. If I don’t, I inevitable overspend and find myself regretting some purchases after the fact.

There is one simple trick I know that helps me get a discount on virtually anything I purchase that I wanted to share with you today.

It’s quite simple really. And it all has to do with Amazon.

It’s something I noticed a couple years ago when I first got my Prime membership and started doing more shopping online.

As a normal online shopper, I have a tendency to do research on my purchases before actually buying anything. The more they cost, the longer I conduct research.

What I noticed was something interesting whenever I would search for, say, “Shark vacuum cleaner” on Amazon and close my browser without actually buying anything.

I would all of a sudden see that “Shark Vacuum Cleaner” everywhere! I mean, I would see it in the ads on the side of every website I visited! (Apparently Google can target the ads you see in that way). Then I noticed that if I waited more than a couple weeks without going back to purchase the item, I would magically receive an email from Amazon with a discount on that item.

After noticing it a few times, I decided to test out my findings on an item I really wanted but didn’t want to pay full price for. I searched for it, even put it in my shopping cart, but never completed the transaction.

Wouldn’t you know that a couple weeks later I received a 25% discount via email from Amazon? Bam!

It truly works. It’s been like this for a couple years, and I still use this trick any time I have the luxury of planning out a purchase ahead of time (like Christmas gifts or household items). My sister does it, too, so I know it’s not just me!

Amazon has competitive pricing on most items, sometimes the same or better than Target (my go-to store) and with free Prime shipping, it’s a no-brainer once they send you a discount!
