It’s one of the eternal struggles as a parent…How do I get my kids to do their chores....willingly?! Without complaining, grumbling, or procrastinating?? Despite our best intentions as parents, sometimes kids don't want to do chores without putting up a - LOT - of resistance. Kids are just like everyone else - they know they are important parts of the family, and they know there are household tasks that need to get done. Power struggles are bound to happen whenever parents are trying to implement household standards. If only our little beautiful ones would come Keep Reading

I have been looking for some great disposable oatmeal baking cups because they are great for easy dinners and meal trains (see Best Meal Train Ideas for Families). If you're here from that post, then you know what a great blessing it is to be able to take nutritious, delicious food to a friend in need. Most often, you don't need an airtight container to deliver oatmeal cups in. I think the larger size muffin cups are perfect for this purpose. Not only is baked oatmeal a great idea for meal trains, but this is a good simple quick meal idea for busy mornings (school days, meal prep Keep Reading

Every year I struggle with buying toys for the kids in my life. I go back to my childhood, thinking of playing outside in the dirt and fresh air. Some of my best toys were sticks I'd found in the woods, or rocks that I thought were just super cool. I suppose you could call them non-toy toys. Growing up in the south, there was nothing better than going in the yard and having a great time getting sweaty or muddy and coming back in at lunchtime feeling energized yet also STARVING. 10 expensive baby things I would have bought if money was no object

When I was pregnant with each of my babies and we were scrimping and saving as much money as we could so I could be a stay-at-home-mom. I remember looking at the looooonnnnnggg list of necessary baby items and wondering how people ever afforded children! Money was especially tight when we were preparing for our first. I remember looking at the list of expensive items like the stroller, crib, jumper, car seat, etc and hoping that I would receive them as shower gifts because I knew there was no way we could afford all of those items.
