When you have a new baby on the way, there's nothing sweeter than telling their older sibling about it. When my oldest daughter was two and a half years old. My second baby was born, another little girl. She was so excited to have a little sister, and we talked about her all the time before she arrived. You as a parent know it is going to be a big change, but I knew that she would embrace her new role as an older sibling because she completely understood what was happening. She doesn't remember a time when her little sister wasn't there. So, looking back now, she Keep Reading

A graphic titled "How to Make Your Shower Smell Good and Stay Clean!" features a modern, white-tiled bathroom with a sleek sink and mirror in the background. The bold text is written in purple and black, accompanied by a pink, polka-dotted circular logo reading "What Mommy Does." An arrow points to the bottom of the graphic.

One thing I vowed when we built our home a few years ago was that I'd do my very best to always keep the bad smells away from important places. :) I have mostly lived in very old homes in my life, so I am familiar with that old musty smell + unpleasant lingering bathroom odors. I've often asked myself, "Why does it smell bad?" I have always wondered if I started from scratch in a brand new home if I could potentially keep the freshness going if I tried really hard. So this new home (we built 3 years ago) is my chance!   I Wasn't Sure How to Keep It Clean at Keep Reading

how to teach gratefulness to children - free printable challenge

Every day I try my best to instill gratitude in my children. I'm not a perfect mom by any means, but I try my best. Something I've started doing recently to teach thankfulness to my kids (especially my youngest, who is in Kindergarten) is talk to them about how wonderful it is to say THANK YOU to others.  The simple act of going up to someone and saying thank you makes a huge difference to a young child. Not only do they get to experience someone smiling at them for something they did, it also teaches them good manners! A total bonus! How to Raise an Appreciative Child I Keep Reading

Their answers are always so precious, like "My Daddy is 13 years old" and "His favorite thing to do is give me presents." :) If you would like to have your kids fill one out as well, feel free to grab my printable below. this is the BEST essential oils blend available - it's a lavender blend

I have been hunting FOREVER – like literally 20 million years – for a good scent diffuser for my home. When I was a little girl, we didn’t have anything good smelling in our house. My family was as frugal as frugal comes, and essential oil diffusers were not high on top of the list of things to buy. I would go to friends’ homes and marvel at these wonderful smelling devices that released fragrance in the air. 😊 I vowed that I would one day make my home smell amazing despite how unpractical it was to spend hard-earned money on this luxury. Hehe.     **Don’t Keep Reading

A printable sheet featuring the alphabet in black outline bubble letters. The heading at the top reads "FREE ALPHABET PRINTABLES" in white text on a pink background, with the letters A to Z displayed in five rows below.

In our house, we are full steam ahead with letter recognition. I was excited to share recently that my four-year-old was able to learn her letters and sounds using the Leap Frog Letter Factory. When kids learn a new skill they are so excited. Just as excited as we get watching them do it.  Seeing the light go in behind their eyes is such a rewarding experience.    Now that she can recognize the letters and recite their sounds, we are breaking out as many alphabet learning activities as possible. Before she learned her ABCs, she didn’t want to do any sort of Keep Reading
